Our annual Year 10 Faith Formation Day is always a highlight of the school year, and it proved to be especially memorable this year with Fr Rob Galea facilitating the program for our students. Fr Rob is well known for his dynamic presentations and exceptional musical gifts, which he seamlessly weaves throughout the day.

There were moments when the students were up on their feet singing and dancing, other moments quietly in prayer and connecting to God in their own personal way, and moments to listen and learn about our ‘mission possible’ and the ‘extravagant God’. In these two key talks Fr Galea spoke deeply about our unique purpose and the reality that, in His greatness, God continually seeks us out and loves us unconditionally.

Beyond the formal presentations, we are also grateful for Fr Rob’s generosity in spending time with students throughout the day. He made himself readily available to listen, encourage, and engage with the young people. Whether it was gym tips, faith and discipline advice, a song request, or even a spontaneous mini concert, our students were privileged to spend meaningful time with a person full of Christ’s love, zeal and spirit.

Two of our Year 10 students have shared their experience:

The faith formation day with Father Rob was very eye opening, particularly to our significance in the world and more importantly, our significance in God's eyes; helping me gain a deeper appreciation of how special it is that Jesus can have such a personal and intimate relationship with us. Additionally, the connection between the activities we did and the lessons we learned from them felt very intentional and insightful, attaching new meaning and understanding to different parts of my faith. It was overall a very entertaining and engaging day that I won't soon forget.”

Year 10 Faith Day with Father Rob Galea was a really meaningful and enjoyable experience. It gave us the opportunity to reflect on our faith, connect more deeply with God, and think about the importance of spirituality in our lives. The day was also fun and engaging because we got to participate in challenges and activities, which helped strengthen our teamwork and faith. Overall, it was a memorable day filled with faith and connection. It was also special because many of us had the opportunity to meet Father Rob Galea back in Year 8, and now in Year 10 we were able to continue that journey and reflect on how much we have grown both personally and spiritually. His messages were inspiring and relatable, encouraging us to stay positive, trust in God, and support one another through life’s challenges.”
