By Annette Giang Service Learning Coordinator

This term, Year 8 students had the opportunity to put their faith into action by volunteering to support people experiencing homelessness and hardship.

On Thursday 21 May, 10 dedicated students stayed back after school to prepare approximately 300–400 ham and cheese sandwiches for the St Vincent de Paul Society's Soup Van program.

The sandwiches were delivered to the Inner City Soup Van Hub in Kensington. This central kitchen relies on the generosity of donors and volunteers and helps provide more than 400,000 meals each year to people in need across Melbourne’s inner city.

We thank the students for their generosity and displaying our College Pillar of Compassion and willingness to serve others in our community.

Any Year 8 students interested in participating in future volunteering opportunities are encouraged to contact Ms Giang.
